A familiar face on our screens for many years, Wendy Petrie co-anchored 1News at 6pm on TVNZ for almost 15 years. Her career spans television, radio news, reporting on big stories around the world as well as a stint in Canada presenting television news. Always looking to try something new, Wendy has spent her career engaging audiences, telling stories and meeting people of all different walks of life After the Covid pandemic, she spread her wings, taking on new opportunities.
A favourite on the MC & speaker circuit, she’s also run 3 marathons and signed up for an ocean swim. The mum of 3 advocates for children as a Board Trustee of John Walkers, Find Your Field of Dreams charity based in South Auckland, where Wendy grew up. Now she’s embarked on a completely new adventure with a transition to business ownership, with Speedy Signs, Albany. Stepping into a new industry has been a huge learning curve, that’s brought big challenges and big rewards.
