Supporter Spotlight: Miller Creative Group

14/02/2018

Miller Creative Group is very aware of its community, and places a high value on contributing something positive back.

That is why it is an Otago Medical Research Foundation sponsor.

Millers Managing Director Keith Cooper points out Dunedin is a small city, it’s therefore incumbent on businesses to do something that is relevant to the area.  “It’s a conscious decision to support something we know is having a positive impact.”

Millers is a Dunedin institution – it has over 100 years’ experience in designing, building and installing bespoke joinery and signage, and is the specialist in medical-based building fit-outs. The company prides itself on providing a complete solution to fit shop and office premises.

“It’s therefore a natural link for Millers to support the Otago Medical Research Foundation, as we have a strong association with both the University and the Hospital – we understand what they do and why, and the regulatory environment they work in as we are involved in their redevelopment projects.  It’s a good collaborative relationship,” Keith says.

The Foundation’s research is not business as usual, it’s holistic – it is funding big-picture ambitious projects with some big goals and some great outcomes. We’re proud to play a part in that – it fits with our approach.”

“And it’s worthwhile to get together at events with all those involved in the Foundation, be they supporters or researchers, to network and to be educated and inspired by the current projects.”

“We need more people to think about Dunedin rather than going off-shore – we feel our involvement with the Foundation is a positive way of helping shape the future of the city, and have an impact on the lives of people living in our community.”
