Thought provoking OMRF Club Otago lunch - 1st August 2025

01/08/2025

We were in for a treat overlooking the stunning Otago Harbour at our Club Otago lunch on Friday 1st August.
Fantastic guests, speakers, food and venue made for a great couple of hours.
A huge thank you to our speakers. Dr Alisa Boucsein's data on the positive impacts of automated insulin delivery systems for children, youth and adults living with Type 1 diabetes was quite staggering. Alisa's project is funded by an OMRF grant awarded last year and we wish her all the best with her research.
After a delicious lunch, Professor Robert Patman had an open discussion on New Zealand’s stance toward Gaza and the Israel-Iran conflict during the second Trump administration. There were some excellent questions from guests, resulting in further discussion. It was certainly a thought-provoking talk.
Thank you to all our wonderful guests who joined us and to the team at Edgar Centre Dunedin NZ for being fantastic hosts.
A special thanks to our Club Otago individual and corporate members - many of whom joined us today. Special mention to our Club Otago Patrons - Jarden Wealth and Mercy Hospital Dunedin for their support.
